Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GEHEEH IIJAAJ EEKLLK MMNOO EEPQRP

By England's side we standA
We grasp her royal handA
And pay her rightful homage through her SonB
Thank God for England's careC
Thank God for Britain's heirC
Our hearts go forth to meet him we are oneB
-
A loyal Province poursD
Her thousands to her shoresD
From iron girt Superior to the seaE
We feel our youthful bloodF
Surge through us like a floodF
There's not a slave amongst us we are freeE
-
For none but Freemen knowG
The truly loyal throeE
That gives heroic impulse to the ManH
The passion and the fireE
The chivalrous desireE
Our Fathers all were heroes in the vanH
-
And we their ardent sonsI
Through whom triumphant runsI
The old intrepid attribute sereneJ
Would leave our chosen landA
Our homes our forests grandA
To strike for England's honour and her QueenJ
-
No soulless welcome weE
Dare give to such as theeE
Be thou a bright example to the worldK
Great in thy well earned fameL
Beloved in heart and nameL
Wherever Britain's banner is unfurledK
-
Through all our leafy gladesM
Through all our green arcadesM
The living torrents sweeping in evinceN
That from their manly heartsO
The Yeoman chorus startsO
'Honour to England's Heir long live the Prince '-
-
Oh England in this hourE
We own thy sov'reign pow'rE
To thee and thine our best affections clingP
And when thy crown is laidQ
On Royal Albert's headR
With heart and soul we'll shout GOD SAVE THE KINGP
