To Margaret W------ Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GGHAAI

Margaret in happy hourA
Christen'd from that humble flowerA
Which we a daisy callB
May thy pretty name sake beC
In all things a type of theeC
And image thee in allB
-
Like it you show a modest faceD
An unpretending native graceD
The tulip and the pinkE
The china and the damask roseF
And every flaunting flower that blowsF
In the comparing shrinkE
-
Of lowly fields you think no scornG
Yet gayest gardens would adornG
And grace wherever setH
Home seated in your lonely bowerA
Or wedded a transplanted flowerA
I bless you MargaretI
