To Charles Lloyd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNBOOPQR ST U

A stranger and alone I past those scenesA
We past so late together and my heartB
Felt something like desertion when I look'dC
Around me and the well known voice of friendD
Was absent and the cordial look was thereE
No more to smile on me I thought on LloydF
All he had been to me And now I goG
Again to mingle with a world impureH
With men who make a mock of holy thingsI
Mistaken and of man's best hope think scornJ
The world does much to warp the heart of manK
And I may sometimes join its ideot laughL
Of this I now complain not Deal with meM
Omniscient Father as thou judgest bestN
And in thy season tender thou my heartB
I pray not for myself I pray for himO
Whose soul is sore perplex'd shine thou on himO
Father of Lights and in the difficult pathsP
Make plain his way before him His own thoughtsQ
May he not think his own ends not pursueR
So shall he best perform thy will on earthS
Greatest and Best thy will be ever oursT
