The Rainbow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCCDEEFFGGFFCCHH IIFFJJIIKKLLMMFFFANN

After the tempest in the skyA
How sweet yon rainbow to the eyeA
Come my Matilda now while someB
Few drops of rain are yet to comeB
In this honeysuckle bowerC
Safely sheltered from the showerC
We may count the colours o'erC
Seven there are there are no moreD
Each in each so finely blendedE
Where they begin or where are endedE
The finest eye can scarcely seeF
A fixed thing it seems to beF
But while we speak see how it glidesG
Away and now observe it hidesG
Half of its perfect arch now weF
Scarce any part of it can seeF
What is colour If I wereC
A natural philosopherC
I would tell you what does makeH
This meteor every colour takeH
But an unlearned eye may viewI
Nature's rare sights and love them tooI
Whenever I a rainbow seeF
Each precious tint is dear to meF
For every colour find I thereJ
Which flowers which fields which ladies wearJ
My favourite green the grass's hueI
And the fine deep violet blueI
And the pretty pale blue bellK
And the rose I love so wellK
All the wondrous variationsL
Of the tulips pinks carnationsL
This woodbine here both flower and leafM
'Tis a truth that's past beliefM
That every flower and every treeF
And every living thing we seeF
Every face which we espyF
Every cheek and every eyeA
In all their tints in every shadeN
Are from the rainbow's colours madeN
