The Confidant Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEFEGG HIHIJJ KLKLMN

Anna was always full of thoughtA
As if she'd many sorrows knownB
Yet mostly her full heart was fraughtA
With troubles that were not her ownB
For the whole school to Anna used to tellC
Whatever small misfortunes unto them befellC
-
-
And being so by all belovedD
That all into her bosom pouredE
Their dearest secrets she was movedF
To pity all her heart a hoardE
Or storehouse by this means became for allG
The sorrows can to girls of tender age befallG
-
-
Though individually not muchH
Distress throughout the school prevailedI
Yet as she shared it all 'twas suchH
A weight of woe that her assailedI
She lost her colour loathed her food and grewJ
So dull that all their confidence from her withdrewJ
-
-
Releas d from her daily careK
No longer listening to complaintL
She seems to breathe a different airK
And health once more her cheek does paintL
Still Anna loves her friends but will not hearM
Again their list of grievances which cost so dearN
