To Miss Mitford: Authoress Of 'our Village' Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAAAAACCDDCE F

The single eye the daughter of the lightA
Well pleased to recognise in lowliest shadeB
Some glimmer of its parent beam and madeB
By daily draughts of brightness inly brightA
The taste severe yet graceful trained arightA
In classic depth and clearness and repaidA
By thanks and honour from the wise and staidA
By pleasant skill to blame and yet delightA
And high communion with the eloquent throngC
Of those who purified our speech and songC
All these are yours The same examples lureD
You in each woodland me on breezy moorD
With kindred aim the same sweet path alongC
To knit in loving knowledge rich and poorE
