The Poetry Of A Root Crop Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEEFFGGHHCCIIJJ C

Underneath their eider robeA
Russet swede and golden globeA
Feathered carrot burrowing deepB
Steadfast wait in charmed sleepB
Treasure houses wherein lieC
Locked by angels' alchemyD
Milk and hair and blood and boneE
Children of the barren stoneE
Children of the flaming AirF
With his blue eye keen and bareF
Spirit peopled smiling downG
On frozen field and toiling townG
Toiling town that will not heedH
God His voice for rage and greedH
Frozen fields that surpliced lieC
Gazing patient at the skyC
Like some marble carven nunI
With folded hands when work is doneI
Who mute upon her tomb doth prayJ
Till the resurrection dayJ
