Ye mountains on whose torrent furrowed slopes	A
And bare and silent brows uplift to heaven	B
I envied oft the soul which fills your wastes	C
Of pure and stern sublime and still expanse	D
Unbroken by the petty incidents	E
Of noisy life Oh hear me once again	F

Winds upon whose racked eddies far aloft	G
Above the murmur of the uneasy world	H
My thoughts in exultation held their way	I
Whose tremulous whispers through the rustling glade	J
Were once to me unearthly tones of love	K
Joy without object wordless music stealing	L
Through all my soul until my pulse beat fast	M
With aimless hope and unexpressed desire	N
Thou sea who wast to me a prophet deep	O
Through all thy restless waves and wasting shores	P
Of silent labour and eternal change	Q
First teacher of the dense immensity	M
Of ever stirring life in thy strange forms	R
Of fish and shell and worm and oozy weed	M
To me alike thy frenzy and thy sleep	O
Have been a deep and breathless joy Oh hear	S

Mountains and winds and waves take back your child	M
Upon thy balmy bosom Mother Nature	N
Where my young spirit dreamt its years away	I
Give me once more to nestle I have strayed	M
Far through another world which is not thine	T
Through sunless cities and the weary haunts	U
Of smoke grimed labour and foul revelry	V
My flagging wing has swept A mateless bird's	W
My pilgrimage has been through sin and doubt	M
And darkness seeking love Oh hear me Nature	N
Receive me once again but not alone	X
No more alone Great Mother I have brought	M
One who has wandered yet not sinned like me	V
Upon thy lap twin children let us lie	Y
And in the light of thine immortal eyes	Z
Let our souls mingle till The Father calls	A2
To some eternal home the charge He gives thee	V
