In An Illuminated Missal[1] Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBCCDDBBDDEF

I would have loved there are no mates in heavenA
I would be great there is no pride in heavenA
I would have sung as doth the nightingaleB
The summer's night beneath the moone paleB
But Saintes hymnes alone in heaven prevailB
My love my song my skill my high intentC
Have I within this seely book y pentC
And all that beauty which from every partD
I treasured still alway within mine heartD
Whether of form or face angelicalB
Or herb or flower or lofty cathedralB
Upon these sheets below doth lie y spredD
In quaint devices deftly blazonedD
Lord in this tome to thee I sanctifyE
The sinful fruits of worldly fantasyF
