Treacherous as trap door spidersA
they ambush children's innocenceB
Why is there g h in light It isn't fairC
Buddha declared the world illusoryD
as the p sound in psyche SartreE
said the same of God from FranceF
Olympus of silent letters n'est ce pasG
-
Polite conceals an e in the same wayH
How are you hides I don't careC
Physics asserts the desk I lean onI
the brush that fluffs my hairC
are only dots that punctuate a nullityJ
complete as the g sound in gnomeK
the c e in WorcestershireL
-
Passions lurk under the saint's bedJ
mute as the end of loveM
They glide toward us yellow eyesN
gleaming hushed as the finalityJ
of hate malice snakeO
As easily predict the h in lichenP
choral LichtensteinQ
-
as laws against throttling ratsR
making U turns on empty streetsS
Such nonsense must be memorizedJ
Imagine dropkicking a spudJ
Dad said If e breaks offT
your toe it spoils your potatoJ
Like compass needlesU
-
pointing north silent lettersA
show the power of hidden thingsV
Voiced by our ancestorsA
but heard no more they nudgeW
our thoughts toward deathX
infinity our senses' inabilityJ
to see the earth as roundJ
-
circling the sun in a universeY
implacable as Might Makes RightJ
ineffable as tomorrow's second rZ
incomprehensible as imbroglio's gJ
the e that finishes inscrutableA2
imponderable immenseB2
the terrifying k in I don't knowJ
