Gas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFGHAIJKLMNEO PEFQRC SPS CD AEG TUVWDXYDDZUZ

my grandmother had a serious gasA
problemB
we only saw her on SundayC
she'd sit down to dinnerD
and she'd have gasA
she was very heavyE
years oldF
wore this large glass broochG
that's what you noticed mostH
in addition to the gasA
she'd let it go just as food was being servedI
she'd let it go in burstsJ
spaced about a minute apartK
she'd let it goL
or timesM
as we reached for the potatoesN
poured the gravyE
cut into the meatO
-
nobody ever said anythingP
especially meE
I was years oldF
only my grandmother spokeQ
after or blastsR
she would say in an offhand wayC
'I'll bury you all '-
-
I didn't much like thatS
first fartingP
then saying thatS
-
it happened every SundayC
she was my father's motherD
-
every Sunday it was death and gasA
and mashed potatoes and gravyE
and that big glass broochG
-
those Sunday dinners wouldT
always end with apple pie andU
ice creamV
and a big argumentW
about something or otherD
my grandmother finally running out the doorX
and taking the red train back toY
PasadenaD
the place stinking for an hourD
and my father walking aboutZ
fanning a newspaper in the air andU
saying 'it's all that damned sauerkrautZ
she eats '-
