Gamblers All Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHG IJIKKLM NOCP QRE

sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you thinkA
i I'm not going to make it i but you laugh insideB
remembering all the times you've felt that way andC
you walk to the bathroom do your toilet see that faceD
in the mirror oh my oh my oh my but you comb your hair anywayE
get into your street clothes feed the cats fetch theF
newspaper of horror place it on the coffee table kiss yourG
wife goodbye and then you are backing the car out into life itselfH
like millions of others you enter the arena once moreG
-
you are on the freeway threading through traffic nowI
moving both towards something and towards nothing at all as you punchJ
the radio on and get Mozart which is something and you will somehowI
get through the slow days and the busy days and the dullK
days and the hateful days and the rare days all both so delightfulK
and so disappointing becauseL
we are all so alike and so differentM
-
you find the turn off drive through the most dangerousN
part of town feel momentarily wonderful as Mozart worksO
his way into your brain and slides down along your bones andC
out through your shoesP
-
it's been a tough fight worth fightingQ
as we all drive alongR
betting on another dayE
