The Soul Of Wine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDF GHGH IJIJ KLKL MAM

One night from bottles sang the soul of wineA
' misfit man I send you for your goodB
Out of the glass and wax where I'm confinedC
A melody of light and brotherhoodB
-
I know you must out on the blazing hillD
Suffer and sweat beneath the piercing raysE
To grow my life in me my soul and willD
I'm grateful to you and I will not playF
-
You false since I feel joy when I can fallG
Into the throat of some old working manH
And his warm belly suits me overallG
As resting place more than cold cellars canH
-
And do you hear the songs that hope believesI
The Sunday music throbbing from my breastJ
Elbows on table rolling up your sleevesI
You praise me and I'll put your cares to restJ
-
I'll fire the eyes of your enraptured wifeK
I'll grant a force and colour to your sonL
And will for this frail athlete of lifeK
Be oil that makes the straining muscles runL
-
My nectar falls in your fertilityM
A precious seed whose Sower is divineA
So from our love is born rare poetryM
Thrusting towards God the blossom on its vine '-
