The Eyes Of Beauty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHG HII

You are a sky of autumn pale and roseA
But all the sea of sadness in my bloodB
Surges and ebbing leaves my lips moroseC
Salt with the memory of the bitter floodB
-
In vain your hand glides my faint bosom o'erD
That which you seek beloved is desecrateE
By woman's tooth and talon ah no moreF
Seek in me for a heart which those dogs ateE
-
It is a ruin where the jackals restG
And rend and tear and glut themselves and slayH
A perfume swims about your naked breastG
-
Beauty hard scourge of spirits have your wayH
With flame like eyes that at bright feasts have flaredI
Burn up these tatters that the beasts have sparedI
