Semper Eadem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDF GHI JKL

You said there grows within you some strange gloomA
A sea rising on rock why is it soB
When once your heart has brought its harvest homeC
Life is an evil secret all men knowB
-
A simple sorrow not mysteriousD
And like your joy it sparkles for us allE
So lovely one be not so curiousD
And even though your voice is sweet be stillF
-
Be quiet silly girl Soul of delightG
Mouth of the childish laugh More still than LifeH
Death holds us often in the subtlest waysI
-
So let my heart be lost within a lieJ
As in a sweet dream plunge into your eyesK
And sleep a long time in your lashes' shadeL
