Poison Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCB DEEDE FGHFH IJKJL

Wine can invest the most disgusting holeA
With wonders to our eyesB
And make the fabled porticoes ariseB
In its red vapour's goldC
That show in sunsets seen through hazy skiesB
-
Opium will expand beyond all measuresD
Stretch out the limitlessE
Will deepen time make rapture bottomlessE
With dismal pleasuresD
Surfeit the soul to point of helplessnessE
-
But that is nothing to the poison flowF
Out of your eyes those roundG
Green lakes in which my soul turns upside downH
To these my dreams all goF
At these most bitter gulfs to drink or drownH
-
But all that is not worth the prodigyI
Of your saliva girlJ
That bites my soul and dizzies it and swirlsK
It down remorselesslyJ
Rolling it fainting to the underworldL
