mes yeux agrandis voltige incessammentD
-
Le soleil a noirci la flamme des bougiesC
Ainsi toujours vainqueur ton fant me est pareilA
Ame resplendissante l'immortel soleilA
-
Spiritual DawnE
-
When debauchees are roused by the white rosy dawnE
Escorted by the Ideal which gnaws at their heartsC
Through the action of a mysterious vengeful lawA
In the somnolent brute an Angel awakensC
-
The inaccessible blue of Spiritual HeavensC
For the man thrown to earth who suffers and still dreamsC
Opens and yawns with the lure of the abyssC
Thus dear Goddess Being lucid and pureB
-
Over the smoking ruins of stupid orgiesC
Your memory clearer more rosy more charmingF
Hovers incessantly before my widened eyesC
-
The sunlight has darkened the flame of the candlesC
Thus ever triumphant resplendent soulA
Your phantom is like the immortal sunG
-
-
Translated by William AggelerB
-
Spiritual DawnE
-
When in the company of the IdealA
That gnawing tooth Dawn enters white and pinkH
The rooms of rakes each sated beast can feelA
An Angel waking through the fumes of drinkH
-
For downcast Man who dreams and suffers stillA
The azure of the mystic heaven aboveI
With gulf like vertigo attracts his willA
So Goddess lucid Being of pure loveI
-
Over the smoking wreck of feasts and scandalsC
Your phantom rosy and enchanting fliesC
And still returns to my dilated eyesC
-
The sun has blackened out the flame of candlesC
So your victorious phantom seems as oneG
O blazing spirit with the deathless SunG
-
-
Translated by Roy CampbellA
-
L'Aube spirituelleA
-
when to the drunkard's room the flushing EastD
comes with her comrade sharply clawed the DreamJ
she wakens by a dark avenging schemeJ
an angel in the dull besotted beastD
-
deep vaults of inaccessible azure thereB
before the dreamer sick with many a phasmJ
open abysmal as a beckoning chasmJ
thus deity all pure clear light and airB
-
over the stupid orgy's reeking trackK
brighter and lovelier yet thine image fliesC
in fluttering rays before my widening eyesC
-
the sun has turned the candles' flame to blackK
even so victorious always thou art oneG
resplendent spirit with the eternal sunG
-
-
