Destruction Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFG HIJ KLJ

The Fiend is at my side without a restA
He swirls around me like a subtle breezeB
I swallow him and burning fills my breastA
And calls me to desire's shameful needsC
-
Knowing my love of Art he may selectD
A woman's form most perfect most corruptE
And under sanctimonious pretextF
Bring to my lips the potion of her lustG
-
Thus does he lead me far from sight of GodH
Broken and gasping out into the broadI
And wasted plains of Ennui deep and stillJ
-
Then throws before my staring eyes some gownsK
And bloody garments stained by open woundsL
And dripping engines of Destruction's willJ
