A Beatrice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQDAR ST UVEWXYZZ

One day in ashy cindery terrainsA
As I meandered making my complaintB
To nature slowly sharpening the knifeC
Of thought against the whetstone of my heartD
In plainest day I saw around my headE
A lowering cloud as weighty as a stormF
Which bore within a vicious demon throngG
Who showed themselves as cruel and curious dwarfsH
Disdainfully they circled and observedI
And as a madman draws a crowd to jokesJ
I heard them laugh and whisper each to eachK
Giving their telling nudges and their winksL
'Now is the time to roast this comic sketchM
This shadow Hamlet who takes the poseN
The indecisive stare and straying hairO
A pity isn't it to see this fraudP
This posturer this actor on reliefQ
Because he plays his role with some slight artD
He thinks his shabby whining entertainsA
The eagles and the insects brooks and flowersR
Even to us who wrote these trite charadesS
He mouths the speeches of his paltry show 'T
-
I had authority my giant prideU
Can easily disperse that chattering routV
And simply could have turned my sovereign headE
Had I not seen among that filthy troupeW
O crime that did not make the sun to swerveX
My heart's bright queen she of the matchless gazeY
Who laughed with those who fed on my distressZ
And stroked them more than once with low caressZ
