Alone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHI

THE lilies clustered fair and tallA
I stood outside the garden wallA
I saw her light robe glimmering throughB
The fragrant evening's dusk and dewB
-
She stopped above the lilies paleC
Up the clear east the moon did sailC
I saw her bend her lovely headD
O'er her rich roses blushing redD
-
Her slender hand the flowers caressedE
Her touch the unconscious blossoms blessedE
The rose against her perfumed palmF
Leaned its soft cheek in blissful calmF
-
I would have given my soul to beG
That rose she touched so tenderlyG
I stood alone outside the gateH
And knew that life was desolateI
