Would I Were With Thee! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBB CDCDEE CFCFGG CBCBHH

WOULD I were with thee every day and hourA
Which now I spend so sadly far from theeB
Would that my form possessed the magic powerA
To follow where my heavy heart would beB
Whate'er thy lot by land or seaB
Would I were with thee eternallyB
-
Would I were with thee when the world forgettingC
Thy weary limbs upon the turf are thrownD
While bright and red the evening sun is settingC
And all thy thoughts belong to heaven aloneD
While happy dreams thy heart employE
Would I were with thee in thy joyE
-
Would I were with thee when no longer feigningC
The hurried laugh that stifles back a sighF
Thy young lip pours unheard its sweet complainingC
And tears have quenched the light within thine eyeF
When all seems dark and sad belowG
Would I were with thee in thy woeG
-
Would I were with thee when the day is breakingC
And when the moon hath lit the lonely seaB
Or when in crowds some careless note awakingC
Speaks to thy heart in memory of meB
In joy or pain by sea or shoreH
Would I were with thee evermoreH
