Sonnet Xv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AB CDEDFGFGHIHIJJTO MISS AUGUSTA COWELL | A |
To whom I owe the popularity of some of my favourite ballads | B |
- | |
WHEN thy light fingers touch th' obedient chords | C |
Which with a gentle murmur low respond | D |
Waiting the measure of the coming words | E |
From that sweet voice so plaintive sad and fond | D |
Say does some wing d Ariel hovering near | F |
Teach thee his island music note for note | G |
That thou may'st copy with an echo clear | F |
Th' enchanted symphonies that round thee float | G |
Or do all Melodies whilst thou art playing | H |
Each with the offering of some chorded sound | I |
On the low slanting sunbeam earthward straying | H |
Like meek subservient spirits wander round | I |
In Harmony's dim language asking thee | J |
Which of them for the hour shall thy attendant be | J |
