Sonnet Xi Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEGHH

GREEN avenue whose shadow dim and sweetA
Pleasantly shelter'd me in days of yoreB
Dear lost companion whose slow pacing feetA
Then wander'd with me on that moss paved floorB
Still like a natural temple spring those treesC
Their column'd stems high arching over headD
Still dost THOU love while sighs the murmuring breezeC
At Summer eve that velvet path to treadD
Then gentle friend in whose unworldly eyesE
And on whose calm serene expressive browF
The light of many a prayer reflected liesE
As thou with Heaven didst constant commune knowG
Though in this world divided we must beH
Kneel in that quiet spot and pray to God for MEH
