Sonnet I Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDCDEFEFGHIHJJ

ON SEEING THE BUST OF THE YOUNG PRINCESS DE MONTFORTA
In the studio of Bartolini at FlorenceB
-
SWEET marble I didst thou merely representC
In lieu of her on whom our glances restD
Some common loveliness we were contentC
As with a modell'd beauty well express'dD
But by the very skill which makes thee seemE
So like HER bright and intellectual faceF
The heart is led unsatisfied to dreamE
For sculpture cannot give the breathing graceF
The light which plays beneath that shadowy browG
Like sunshine on the fountains of the southH
The blush which tints that cheek with roseate glowI
The smile which hovers round that angel mouthH
No such the form o'er which Pygmalion sigh'dJ
Too fair to be complete while SOUL was still deniedJ
