Picture Of Twilight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJ KLMNNOO

Oh Twilight Spirit that dost render birthA
To dim enchantments melting heaven with earthA
Leaving on craggy hills and running streamsB
A softness like the atmosphere of dreamsB
Thy hour to all is welcome Faint and sweetC
Thy light falls round the peasant's homeward feetC
Who slow returning from his task of toilD
Sees the low sunset gild the cultured soilD
And though such radiance round him brightly glowsE
Marks the small spark his cottage window throwsE
Still as his heart forestalls his weary paceF
Fondly he dreams of each familiar faceF
Recalls the treasures of his narrow lifeG
His rosy children and his sunburnt wifeG
To whom his coming is the chief eventH
Of simple days in cheerful labour spentH
The rich man's chariot hath gone whirling pastI
And these poor cottagers have only castI
One careless glance on all that show of prideJ
Then to their tasks turn'd quietly asideJ
But him they wait for him they welcome homeK
Fix'd sentinels look forth to see him comeL
The fagot sent for when the fire grew dimM
For him the watching of that sturdy boyN
For him those smiles of tenderness and joyN
For him who plods his sauntering way alongO
Whistling the fragment of some village songO
