My Heart Is Like A Withered Nut! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE AGAGHIHI AEAEJKJK

MY heart is like a withered nutA
Rattling within its hollow shellB
You cannot ope my breast and putC
Any thing fresh with it to dwellB
The hopes and dreams that filled it whenD
Life's spring of glory met my viewE
Are gone and ne'er with joy or painF
That shrunken heart shall swell anewE
-
My heart is like a withered nutA
Once it was soft to every touchG
But now 'tis stern and closely shutA
I would not have to plead with suchG
Each light toned voice once cleared my browH
Each gentle breeze once shook the treeI
Where hung the sun lit fruit which nowH
Lies cold and stiff and sad like meI
-
My heart is like a withered nutA
It once was comely to the viewE
But since misfortune's blast hath cutA
It hath a dark and mournful hueE
The freshness of its verdant youthJ
Nought to that fruit can now restoreK
And my poor heart I feel in truthJ
Nor sun nor smile shall light it moreK

ARCHIE M WAUGH : Bravo... Heart touched.... Very greatly penned from the blood of heart, truly expressed from the magnifying lenses of Royal Poetess core of the heart.... Loved it and very finely carved the feelings... And my poor heart, I feel in truth, Nor sun, nor smile shall light it more.... Greatly expressed the confession on the canvas of life.... Liked it... Keep going.... Amazing....greatly loved reading all the three stanzas... Heartiest salute to the WOMB of whom you've been born....God bless
