Dreams Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI

SURELY I heard a voice surely my nameA
Was breathed in tones familiar to my heartB
I listened and the low wind stealing cameA
In darkness and in silence to departB
-
Surely I saw a form a proud bright formC
Standing beside my couch I raised mine eyesD
'Twas but a dim cloud herald of a stormC
That floated through the grey and twilight skiesD
-
Surely the brightness of the summer hourE
Hath suddenly burst upon the circling gloomF
I dream 'twas but the perfume of a flowerE
Which the breeze wafted through the silent roomF
-
Surely a hand clasped mine with greetings fondG
A name is murmured by my lips with painH
Woe for that sound woe for love's broken bondG
I start I wake I am alone againI
