Spooks Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC CDD EEF GGF ADDC

Last night I dreamed that I was come againA
Unto the house where my beloved dwellsB
After long years of wandering and painC
-
And I stood out beneath the drenching rainC
And all the street was bare and black with nightD
But in my true love's house was warmth and lightD
-
Yet I could not draw near nor enter inE
And long I wondered if some secret sinE
Or old unhappy anger held me fastF
-
Till suddenly it came into my headG
That I was killed long since and lying deadG
Only a homeless wraith that way had passedF
-
So thus I found my true love's house againA
And stood unseen amid the winter nightD
And the lamp burned within a rosy lightD
And the wet street was shining in the rainC
