Once upon a time we were close
The best of friends we were
Now we aren't
The memories we once shared are nothing,
But a sheer pipe dream
That never existed.
A dream it was indeed!!!
The smiles, the joy and everything else
That we shared seem to exist in a time capsule.
A time- capsule that we can’t escape
So close and yet so far away.
We drifted away from each other like bobbins in an ocean .
Sometimes I wonder, would we still be close
Had we not drifted apart.
Would we really vouch for each other if it came down to it
Or would we act like total strangers?
Strangers we are now yet it still feels familiar.
Once upon a time,
We were each other’s rock,
But that rock has been washed away.
Like tears being wiped off someone’s face.
Indeed we lost what once was
As the years went by.
