| and seerenity resoundingly echoed his brother peace | C |
| We smiled | D |
| but then missed what we never had | E |
| We hated honey for bees stung | F |
| and the gods scarced the nectar | G |
| hunger shrinking our potbellies | C |
| The gods returned | H |
| swallowing what we chewed | I |
| intering appetised souls day by day | J |
| In our wailing we cursed what we knew not | K |

Poet's note: The gods returned depicts our political environment. It was better while we waited, inasmuch as we knew little of the then regime. What we clamoured for, unknowingly, ended up hurting us.
