Restricted by a path that can’t be seen
Feet entangled as I attempt to go
The summer grass is overgrown and green
I must afford the time it takes to mow

The neighbour’s lawn is always trimmed and neat
Her efforts are so easily achieved
It takes me all my strength to do this feat
Her results must be seen to be believed

I mow the grass and see a hidden sign
A maker’s name embossed into the stone
I gasp aloud to see the name is mine
Had I really done this all alone

I stoop to clean the swatch and claim the space
And erect a seat to reset my pace
