Things Of Great Worth Shall Come To Pass... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IFJK LMNO PQRS OTUV WFXY

Things of great worth shall come to passA
By true foreknowledge and in factB
Names worthier than mine in fameC
And words which earned me men's esteemD
-
Here breakers roar across the bayE
Wave follows wave unchangeablyF
Their tracks like letters traced in sandG
Erased by ebbing lines of foamH
-
So yet you're here at this resortI
I should have found you in this hallF
At five instead of vain small talkJ
I shared and wagging of my tongueK
-
I would have warned you one so fairL
Mature a woman brave and calmM
About the death in life and boundsN
No higher than the ant's low lifeO
-
Great poets through experienceP
Find words so simple and restrainedQ
That in the end they can't do moreR
Than wait in silence and in aweS
-
In faith and kinship with real lifeO
And with the future knit as oneT
We're bound to find immortal wordsU
Of unbelievable simplicityV
-
Yet keep them holy in your heartsW
Or we shall not be spared at allF
Men quickly grasp the complex schemesX
When simplicity's their greater needY
