The Swifts (1) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FDFG

The swifts have no strength any more to retainA
To check the light blue evening coolnessB
It burst from their breasts from their throats under strainA
And flows out of hand in its fullnessB
-
There is not a thing that could stop them up thereC
From shrilly exultedly cryingD
Exclaiming The earth has made off to nowhereC
O look It has vanished O triumphE
-
As cauldrons of water are ended in steamF
When quarrelsome bubbles are risingD
Look there is no room for the earth from the seamF
Of the gorge to the drawn out horizonG
