Ploughing Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHHH IJEJ

What is the matter with the landscapeA
Familiar landmarks are not thereB
Ploughed fields like squares upon a chessboardC
Today are scattered everywhereB
-
The newly harrowed vast expansesD
So evenly are spread aboutE
As though the valley had been spring cleanedF
Or else the mountains flattened outE
-
And that same day in one endeavourG
Outside the furrows every treeH
Bursts into leaf light green and downyH
And stretches skyward tall and freeH
-
No speck of dust on the new maplesI
And colours nowhere are as cleanJ
As is the light grey of the ploughlandE
And as the silver birch's greenJ
