Humble home But rum and charcoalA
Grog of sketches on the wallB
And the cell becomes a mansionC
And the garret is a hallB
-
No more waves of housecoats questionsD
Even footsteps disappearE
Glassy mica fills the latticedF
Work encompassed vault of airG
-
Voice commanding as a levyH
Does not leave a thing immuneI
Smelting fusing In his gulletF
Flows the tin of molten spoonsJ
-
What is fame for him and gloryH
Name position in the worldF
When the sudden breath of fusionC
Blends his words into the WordF
-
He will burn for it his chattelsJ
Friendship reason daily roundF
On his desk a glass unfinishedF
World forgotten clock unwoundF
-
Clustered stanzas change like seethingK
Wax at fortune telling timesJ
He will bless the sleeping childrenC
With the steam of molten rhymesJ
