Confession Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFE GHIJ FKFL MFNF OPQR STUV WRCR EXYZ AA2AO

Life returned with a cause the wayA
Some strange chance once interrupted itB
Just as on that distant summer dayA
I am standing in the same old streetC
-
People are the same and people's worriesD
And the sunset's still a fireballE
Just the way death's night once in a hurryF
Nailed it to the ancient mansion's wallE
-
Women in the same cheap clothes attiredG
Are still wearing down their shoes at nightH
Afterwards against the roofing ironI
They are by the garrets crucifiedJ
-
Here is one of them She looks so wearyF
As she steps across the threshold andK
Rising from the basement drab and drearyF
Walks across the courtyard on a slantL
-
And again I'm ready with excusesM
And again it's all the same to meF
And the neighbour in the backyard pausesN
Then goes out of sight and leaves us beF
-
-
-
-
Don't cry do not purse your lips upO
They're puffy as it is dearP
Mind you don't break the drying scabQ
Of smouldering spring feverR
-
Your hand is on my breast Let goS
We are like two live wiresT
If we aren't careful we'll be thrownU
Together unawaresV
-
The years will pass you'll marry yetW
And you'll forget this squalorR
To be a woman is a featC
To drive men mad that's valourR
-
And as for me I've been in thrallE
For ages begged like almsX
And worshipped the great miracleY
Of woman's neck back armsZ
-
Though bound tight at the end of dayA
By the anguished darkness' loopA2
I'm ever lured to get awayA
I long to break things upO
