Change Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKKL MNKO KNKP

I used to glorify the poorA
Not simply lofty views expressingB
Their lives alone I felt were trueC
Devoid of pomp and window dressingB
-
No stranger to the manor houseD
Its finery and lordly tenorE
I was a friend of down and outsF
And shunned the idly sponging mannerE
-
For choosing friendship in the ranksG
Of working people though no rebelH
I had the honour to be stampedI
As also one among the rabbleH
-
The state of basements unadornedJ
Of attics with no frills or curtainsK
Was tangible without pretenceK
And full of substance weighty certainL
-
And I went bad when rot defacedM
Our time and life became infestedN
When grief was censured as disgraceK
And all played optimists and yes menO
-
My faith in those who seemed my friendsK
Was broken and our ties were sunderedN
I too lost Man the Human sinceK
He had been lost by all and sundryP
