Beloved, With The Spent And Sickly Fumes... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEBE FGFH BBFB BIJK

Beloved with the spent and sickly fumesA
Of rumour's cinders all the air is filledB
But you are the engrossing lexiconC
Of fame mysterious and unrevealedB
-
And fame it is the soil's strong pullD
Would that I more erect were sprungE
But even so I shall be calledB
The native son of my own native tongueE
-
The poets' age no longer sets their rhymeF
Now in the sweep of country plots and roadsG
Lermontov is rhymed with summertimeF
And Pushkin rhymes with geese and snowH
-
And my wish is that when we dieB
Our circle closed and hence departB
We shall be set in closer rhymeF
Than binds the auricle and the heartB
-
And may our harmony unifiedB
Some listener's muffled ear caressI
With all that we do now imbibeJ
And shall draw in through mouths of grassK
