drowning right beside her another man jumps in | F |

to save them all plus one cars arrive and people | H |
get out and leap into the river the river's being filled | I |
with whatever's in their pockets and their hands | B |
and their eyes with nickels and dollar bills | B |
and bibles and sunsets the beautiful brush strokes | B |
of this beautifully dying day people pile | J |
like a river inside the river they keep coming | K |
and diving in they keep feeding their breath | L |
to the water which is less which is thinned | M |
until the mother and son rise on a mound | N |
of strangers and dead the sun warming them blessing | K |
their faces slowly dry | O |
