Outbound Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DE FF GG HH DD II

A lonely sail in the vast sea roomA
I have put out for the port of gloomA
-
The voyage is far on the trackless tideB
The watch is long and the seas are wideB
-
The headlands blue in the sinking dayC
Kiss me a hand on the outward wayC
-
The fading gulls as they dip and veerD
Lift me a voice that is good to hearE
-
The great winds come and the heaving seaF
The restless mother is calling meF
-
The cry of her heart is lone and wildG
Searching the night for her wandered childG
-
Beautiful weariless mother of mineH
In the drift of doom I am here I am thineH
-
Beyond the fathom of hope or fearD
From bourn to bourn of the dusk I steerD
-
Swept on in the wake of the stars in the streamI
Of a roving tide from dream to dreamI
