In times of need with new life pregnant	B
When strife and suffering are regnant	B

No Sunday but a weekday preacher	E
Who suffering still the wrong defies	C
Against false peace he plies his lance	C
'Gainst cowardice and ignorance	C
No bribe he knows	C
From nation's hand	B
Nor king's command	B

way goes	C
And when he wavers sorrow scourges	C
His heart and free of passion purges	C

He is a brother of the small	M
Of women as of all who suffer	E
The new and weak when waves grow rougher	E
He steers till fairer breezes fall	M
Greater he grows without his will	N
By deeds his calling to fulfil	N
And near the tomb	O
To God he sighs	C
That soon may rise	C
A richer bloom	O
To deck his people's soul with flowers	C
Of beauty far beyond his powers	C
