Post Festum Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CD EBBE FGG HIIH EFFE FFFJJ

A man in coat of ice arrayedA
Stood up once by the Arctic OceanB
The whole earth shook with proud emotionB
And honor to the giant paidA
-
A king came to him climbing upC
An Order in his one hand bearingD
'Who great become this sign are wearing '-
The growling giant said but 'Stop '-
-
The frightened king fell down againE
Began to weep with features ashenB
'My Order is in this rude fashionB
Refused by just the greatest menE
-
'My dear man take it 't is but fitF
Of your king's honor be the warderG
On your breast greater grows the OrderG
And we who bear it too by it '-
-
The Arctic giant was too goodH
A foible oft ascribed to giantsI
Who foolish trust in little clientsI
He took it while we mocking stoodH
-
But all the kings crept to him thenE
And each his Order brought to know itF
Thereby renewed and greater so itF
Gave rank to needy noblemenE
-
-
Honi soitF
and all the restF
Soon Orders covered all his breastF
But oh they greater grew no tittleJ
And he grew so confounded littleJ
