Now little Nils Finn had away to goA
The skis were too loose at both heel and toeA
That's too bad rumbled yonderB
-
Then little Nils Finn in the snow set his feetC
You ugliest troll you shall never me cheatC
Hee ho ha rumbled yonderB
-
Nils Finn with his staff beat the snow till it blewD
Your trollship now saw you how hapless it flewD
Hit li hu rumbled yonderB
-
Nils Finn pushed one ski farther forward with mightE
The other held fast he reeled left and rightE
Pull it up rumbled yonderB
-
Nils' tears wet the snow while he kicked and he struckF
The more that he kicked there the deeper he stuckF
That was good rumbled yonderB
-
The birch trees they danced and the pine trees said HooD
They more were than one were a hundred and twoD
Know your way rumbled yonderB
-
A laugh shook the ridge till it made the snow flyG
But Nils clenched his fists and he swore 't was a lieG
Now beware rumbled yonderB
-
The snow field yawned wide and the heavens came lowA
Nils thought 't was now time for him also to goA
Is he gone rumbled yonderB
-
Two skis in the snow looked about everywhereH
But saw nothing much for there was nothing thereH
Where is Nils rumbled yonderB
