Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EBEBFBFBCCCCCGCG HIHIJKJK

When you will the mountains roamA
And your pack are makingB
Put therein not much from homeA
Light shall be your takingB
Drag no valley fetters strongC
To those upland spacesD
Toss them with a joyous songC
To the mountains' basesD
-
Birds sing Hail from many a boughE
Gone the fools' vain talkingB
Purer breezes fan your browE
You the heights are walkingB
Fill your breast and sing with joyF
Childhood's mem'ries startingB
Nod with blushing cheeks and coyF
Bush and heather partingB
If you stop and listen longC
You will hear upwellingC
Solitude's unmeasured songC
To your ear full swellingC
And when now there purls a brookC
Now stones roll and tumbleG
Hear the duty you forsookC
In a world wide rumbleG
-
Fear but pray you anxious soulH
While your mem'ries meet youI
Thus go on the perfect wholeH
On the top shall greet youI
Christ Elijah Moses thereJ
Wait your high endeavorK
Seeing them you'll know no careJ
Bless your path foreverK
