During A Journey In Sweden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAB B CD EE FFGG FFHH FFII JJKK JJ LL MMNN JJB B

My boyish heart in thee confidedA
For to the great by thee 't was guidedA
As man my waiting is for theeB
-
The Northern cause with thee with theeB
-
-
Rich lands and talents are thy dowerC
But fallow lie thy wealth and powerD
-
Thou must the North in concord bindE
Or never shalt thy true self findE
-
-
There's longing in thy folk arisenF
Poetic hope but yet in prisonF
Though forces great within thee dwellG
Thou art not wholly sound and wellG
-
Too many things are undertakenF
Too oft the task is soon forsakenF
Though rich in promptings of the heartH
In faith and duty faint thou artH
-
In danger only hast thou thrivenF
When something great to guard was givenF
When every breast with warmth shall glowI
At Sweden's name thy strength thou'lt knowI
-
What's thine alone lifts not thy feelingJ
Till honor's cause the skies are pealingJ
Thou hast no joy but daring deedK
In fortune's favor or in needK
-
For thy fair memories inspiringJ
Are far too great much more requiringJ
-
The Northern cause Lead thou the wayL
'T will double glory thee repayL
-
-
Of all thou canst this is the greatestM
Thy duty earliest and latestM
Thy future rests in its embraceN
With cure for ills that now abaseN
-
Thou land of heart born fancies throngingJ
Thou land of poetry and longingJ
Fill now thy heart thy spirit freeB
-
The Northern banner waits for theeB
