Morning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DE FGHI JKI LMI NOPAQC

Why do we bother with the rest of the dayA
the swale of the afternoonB
the sudden dip into eveningC
-
then night with his notorious perfumesD
his many pointed starsE
-
This is the bestF
throwing off the light coversG
feet on the cold floorH
and buzzing around the house on espressoI
-
maybe a splash of water on the faceJ
a palmful of vitaminsK
but mostly buzzing around the house on espressoI
-
dictionary and atlas open on the rugL
the typewriter waiting for the key of the headM
a cello on the radioI
-
and if necessary the windowsN
trees fifty a hundred years oldO
out thereP
heavy clouds on the wayA
and the lawn steaming like a horseQ
in the early morningC
