Litany Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABB ABCBDE FDGHH IJKL MDN MOP QRS TUAAAB

You are the bread and the knifeA
The crystal goblet and the wineB
Jacques CrickillonB
-
You are the bread and the knifeA
the crystal goblet and the wineB
You are the dew on the morning grassC
and the burning wheel of the sunB
You are the white apron of the bakerD
and the marsh birds suddenly in flightE
-
However you are not the wind in the orchardF
the plums on the counterD
or the house of cardsG
And you are certainly not the pine scented airH
There is just no way that you are the pine scented airH
-
It is possible that you are the fish under the bridgeI
maybe even the pigeon on the general's headJ
but you are not even closeK
to being the field of cornflowers at duskL
-
And a quick look in the mirror will showM
that you are neither the boots in the cornerD
nor the boat asleep in its boathouseN
-
It might interest you to knowM
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the worldO
that I am the sound of rain on the roofP
-
I also happen to be the shooting starQ
the evening paper blowing down an alleyR
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen tableS
-
I am also the moon in the treesT
and the blind woman's tea cupU
But don't worry I'm not the bread and the knifeA
You are still the bread and the knifeA
You will always be the bread and the knifeA
not to mention the crystal goblet and somehow the wineB
