I Go Back To The House For A Book Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEDBFGHIJKLMNOALP NHQRSTKKUVWADXUYB

I turn around on the gravelA
and go back to the house for a bookB
something to read at the doctor s officeC
and while I am inside running the fingerD
of inquisition along a shelfE
another me that did not botherD
to go back to the house for a bookB
heads out on his ownF
rolls down the drivewayG
and swings left toward townH
a ghost in his ghost carI
another knot in the string of timeJ
a good three minutes ahead of meK
a spacing that will now continueL
for the rest of my lifeM
Sometimes I think I see himN
a few people in front of me on a lineO
or getting up from a tableA
to leave the restaurant just before I doL
slipping into his coat on the way out the doorP
But there is no catching himN
no way to slow him downH
and put us back in synchQ
unless one day he decides to go backR
to the house for somethingS
but I cannot imagineT
for the life of me what that might beK
He is out there always before meK
blazing my trail invisible scoutU
hound that pulls me alongV
shade I am doomed to followW
my perfect doubleA
only bumped an inch into the futureD
and not nearly as well versed as IX
in the love poems of OvidU
I who went back to the houseY
that fateful winter morning and got the bookB
