I Ask You Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEF GHIJKL CMNOP QRBSTUVW WBXYZA2B2C2D2

What scene would I want to be enveloped inA
more than this oneB
an ordinary night at the kitchen tableC
floral wallpaper pressing inA
white cabinets full of glassD
the telephone silentE
a pen tilted back in my handF
-
It gives me time to thinkG
about all that is going on outsideH
leaves gathering in cornersI
lichen greening the high grey rocksJ
while over the dunes the world sails onK
huge ocean going history bubbling in its wakeL
-
But beyond this tableC
there is nothing that I needM
not even a job that would allow me to row to workN
or a coffee colored Aston Martin DBO
with cracked green leather seatsP
-
No it's all hereQ
the clear ovals of a glass of waterR
a small crate of oranges a book on StalinB
not to mention the odd snarling fishS
in a frame on the wallT
and the way these three candlesU
each a different heightV
are singing in perfect harmonyW
-
So forgive meW
if I lower my head now and listenB
to the short bass candle as he takes a soloX
while my heartY
thrums under my shirtZ
frog at the edge of a pondA2
and my thoughts fly off to a provinceB2
made of one enormous skyC2
and about a million empty branchesD2
