A bulb gives us light
But it can lighten only a little space
Outside, engulfed in darkness;
It can't drive away
The darkness—
Of heart and mind
Nor can it help another bulb or tube light
To keep and sustain
The lightness or brightness
That can lead us
From the darkness to the Light.

A candle can illuminate. A soul,
It can brighten more
Of the space--
External and internal
Even if flickering in darkness;
Against the storms
It can light another candle of love,
Harmony and peace
That can lead us
To the ultimate Light of Good
From the darkness of Evil.

Rows of lamps are awaiting our fire.
Come on! Let’s light the candle
Of knowledge
For life to have an illuminating victory
Of love, peace and prosperity
Over the dark gross-
The present reality of existence
With myriad shades of gripping sorrows.
